Window display competition

We shall shortly be circulating a letter, (to all the shops and businesses in the villages of Histon and Impington inviting them to participate in this brand new competition. 

The idea will be for shop windows in the High Street to put on a display based on Histon Feast, and the co-chairs will present a prize to the winning display.  The displays will stay in the windows throughout Feast Week and will hopefully bring a carnival atmosphere to the village.

Histon Feast AGM Elects Co-Chairs for 2008

At the AGM held on 7th February 2008 Sandra Dunn and Sandra Howarth were re-elected as co-chairs of Histon Feast Committee. The two Chairs made the following statement:

We are delighted once again to be the joint Chairs of the Histon Feast Committee. Last year we raised a record amount (£7,279) for distribution to the charities and organisations in the villages of Histon and Impington. We aim to beat this record by providing an exciting and full programme for Feast Week which this year will be from Friday, 27th June to Saturday, 5th July 2008. Once again we shall be relying on our fantastic committee of 12 members and the support of the Friends of the Feast.

We have made an excellent start to this year’s fundraising with a well attended Jazz Evening with “Big Chief”. Attended by over 130 people this event raised a staggering £900.

We are already planning events for Feast Week but we are always open to new ideas and if anyone has a suggestion which they think would be of interest to the Feast Committee please do get in touch via the Feast Web Site www.histon-feast.co.uk. We are keen to provide activities for all age groups in the local community.

We shall, of course, be staging the Feast Parade on Sunday, 29th June at 3pm and the Fun Run on Saturday, 5th July at 10.15 am. Last year we held a very successful Indulgence Evening and this event will be running again this year along with a Fitness Evening. We shall have a packed programme and hope that everyone will buy a copy of the Feast Programme when it is available at the end of May in order to find out full details of all the events.

It is a privilege for us to work with the community and if you would like to become involved in any way please contact us. We are always looking for sponsors for each event and for raffle prizes. There are many ways in which local people can become involved.
