Parade Route Change

The Parade will be held on 5th July 2009 at 3.00 pm. Floats will gather in Clay Street ready to march down School Hill into the High Street. At The Boot the Parade will turn right into Station Road and continue along Station Road to the Barclays Bank building at Vision Park. This is a change from previous years and will mean that the Parade will not turn on to the B1049 at the War Memorial.

At the Barclays Bank building the moving floats will turn into the car park and drive round the back of Barclays ready to re-enter Station Road to return along the Parade route. However, all marchers will remain outside of Barclays Bank and will not enter the car park. The Parade will re-form and march back along Station Road turning left into the High Street ready to disperse at Narrow Lane as usual.

The Committee feels that this new route will be safer for everybody. Letters will be sent out this week inviting organisations to participate in the Parade and also inviting people to have a stall at the Feast Market on Saturday, 11th July
